Fickle Things

He asked me,

How do I change the way my thoughts want to hold him?

How do I stop my heart from beating for just a touch?

Do I pray it away?

I tell him, you don't.

All hearts are fickle things and their desires form from focusing on thoughts that create feelings to bloom in both places.

I tell him to pray for wisdom

And to walk with the Holy Spirit to lead him into God's words

Until his thoughts follow his feet and his heart has no choice but to fall in line.

I tell him to wait.

And to let the Holy Spirit guide his steps.

I tell him to remember that what God has for him is greater and better than what he wants for himself.
