His Name

Updated: May 24, 2022

Jesus taught, “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”

I'm human just like you and sometimes, things are so difficult and that it may seems like arrows are being shot your way with no shelter in sight. You may feel like no one sees you or understand the things you're going through and honestly, that might be true. You might also not have anything in you to pray or to tell God everything that is going on. But in these moments, simply saying "Hi, God", Abba, His name, is truly more than enough.

Simply calling His name means you're acknowledging there's something much greater than this very moment, greater than your current circumstance, and greater than you.

His name alone is a strong tower to which the righteous man runs into it for safety. (Proverbs 18:10) and at His name, every knee bows in heaven and on earth and under the earth (Philippians 2:10-11). His name alone is strength, a rock, a fortress, a deliverer (Psalm 18:1-3). His name equips. His name is the maker, and the redeemer (Isaiah 54:5). His name is Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8), and even demons tremble at the sound of His name (James 2:19). So call on His name, even if that's all you can say in the midst of your circumstance for He put His laws into your heart and mind (Isaiah 49:16) and has engraved you on the palms of His hands (Hebrews 10:16), so call on His name if that's all you can do.
