Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding
Let’s look at 3 of His attributes today: wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
You can find these three characteristics throughout the bible and how much we desperately need these aspects of who the Holy Spirit is. James 1:5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him (ESV)”.
God doesn’t hide from us, He wants to reveal His mysteries to us. He lets us know that we have full access to Him and everything He is because He wants to order and guide our steps to live a fulfilled life in Him. You will know when the spirit of wisdom from the Lord comes into a situation because it will give deeper insight to a matter and make the main driving point to come closer to Jesus.
Not only does God provide us with His spirit of wisdom but knowledge and understanding can come forth from Him as well. The spirit of knowledge will emphasize God’s truth (John 16:13) and the spirit of understanding binds together all that you learned from the Holy Spirit and brings enlightenment to your mind about the fullness of who God is (Ephesians 3:16-19).
Have you ever felt like you came to a place where you hit a wall in your relationship with Christ and you need direction? Well, God can provide you with that insight as you just ask Him! Be intentional to press and ask Him the questions pressed on your heart and wait for His response. It can be like a puzzle as you piece these strings of revelation together with the Father but that’s the joy in the adventure with Him.
